Sara Glynn Hurst Sharpe, born February 16, 1934 in Vidalia, GA, died at her home October 6, 2017. There will be a celebration of life service October 8, 2017 at Southside Baptist Church from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall, with Dr. Ben Hayes officiating.
She is a member of Cusseta Baptist Church, Cusseta, GA but attends Southside Baptist Church in Decatur, AL. Her greatest desire was for people to know Jesus Christ and did her best to model Him in all she did. Her second greatest desire was for people to laugh. She would wear funny hats, joke with you, or tell a tall tale, always saying laughter is the best medicine. She is preceded in death by her husband Billie Ray Sharpe and her parents William (Bill) & Mamie Hurst. She leaves behind her brother, Michael Hurst of Twin City, GA;, daughter, Sabrina Halbrooks (John) of Decatur, AL;, grandchildren Dan Halbrooks and Doug Halbrooks;, and several nieces and nephews. She loved giving her tithe to Southside Baptist Church, donating to the Committee of Church Cooperation and helping anyone that had a need. She would be honored if you would donate to the charity of your choice.
