David Bruce “DaDa” Gargis – Obituary

David Bruce “DaDa” Gargis, 70, of Sheffield, AL went to be with his parents, Bruce and Mattie Lou Gargis in their heavenly home on Thursday, August 31, 2017. Visitation will be Saturday, September 2, 2017 from 11-2 p.m. at Colbert Memorial Chapel with service at 2 p.m. in the chapel. Phillip Potter will be officiating. David served his country in the United States Air Force was an assistant coach at Colbert County High School and head coach at West Morgan High School. David loved to play golf and was a huge Auburn football fan. He attended Auburn University until joining the air force upon returning he attended Florence State College where he obtained his teaching and master’s degree. He was the co-owner of Sports Gear Sporting Goods where he retired. This was one of his greatest accomplishments that allowed him to be around all his athletic friends, and coaches. He also loved to get together with his cousin and friend to get caught up on old and new things in their lives.

David is survived by his wife, Wanda Kay (Austin) Gargis; son, Scott Gargis (Tina); daughter, Gabrielle Loustaunau; special son, Rashawn; brother, Tom Gargis (Amanda); grandchildren, Andrew and Jessica Schrimsher; brother-in-law, Ricky Austin (Donna); special nephew, Cody Austin (Lindsay) and a host of other family and friends.

Pallbearers are Paiden Tucker, Ricklen Tucker, Cody Austin, Jared Gargis, Andrew Schrimsher, Robert Keenum, Roland Gargis, and Tony Gargis.
