TUPELO, MS – Children and their families are encouraged to come enjoy the Read with a Ranger program at 10:00 am on Saturday, August 12, 2017, at the Parkway Visitor Center in Tupelo, MS. This month’s featured story is “Stellaluna,” a book about a bat that lives with a family of birds. Participants will hear how the animals accept each other’s differences, and participate in a fun activity to explore each other’s differences and similarities.

Read with a Ranger is a 45-minute program that is most appropriate for ages six and under, but all ages are welcome.  Participants listen to a story, join in a fun activity and go on an optional and easy half-mile hike.  Read with a Ranger features a new story on the second Saturday of the month. To confirm the time and program scheduled each month, please check on our website calendar at www.nps.gov/natr/planyourvisit/calendar.htm.
