Fred William Barnes, Jr. age 80 of Dora, passed away on Saturday May 20, 2017 at his residence. He was a member of New Canaan Baptist Church. He was retired from AAA Cooper Transportation; he was an avid Alabama fan and an Atlanta Braves fan.
Chapel service will be Tuesday May 23, 2017 at 10:00 am. Rev. Charlie Freeman and Rev. Ronnie Crapps will officiate. Burial in Highland Memorial Gardens. Visitation is Monday 6-8 pm at the funeral home.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Carolyn Barnes; parents, Red and Ellen Barnes and his sister, Pat Klumpp.
Survivors include his children, Debbie Erwin (Henry), Veronica “Roni” Pickens (Max), Steve Barnes (Sherry), Cathy Crapps (Ronnie) and Tracy Campbell (Randy); grandchildren, Joe Huett (Meganne), Tina Bonner (Chad), Ashlee Harrison (Patrick), Shannon Cruz (Toby), Stephanie Barnes, Jayson Crapps (Mandy), Melissa Fowler, Becky Campbell, Jennifer Davis (Jerad), and Jason and Jeremy Schaffer; 20 great grandchildren; sister Peggy Steadman; many other relatives and friends.
