Funeral service for Joyce Marie James, age 73, of Decatur, will be Friday, April 21, 2017, 2:00 p.m. at Shelton Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Dr. Jackie Kay and Father Ray Remke officiating. The family will receive friends for two hours prior to service. Interment will be in Roselawn Cemetery.
Mrs. James, who died Monday, April 17, 2017, at Summerford Nursing Home, was born December 25, 1943, in Decatur, to James Perry and Hattie Newton Perry. She was preceded in death by her mother. Mrs. James was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, who, for the past year, resided at Summerford Nursing Home due to her declining health.
She is survived by her loving husband of 48 years, Robert Wayne James of Decatur; two sons, Michael Wayne James of Dickinson, TX, and Tony Perry James (Becki) of Decatur; father, James Perry of Decatur; sister, Linda Wells of Decatur; and four grandchildren, Hunter, Logan, Michael, and Noah.
Pallbearers will be family and friends.
