Edgar Shotts Wright, 99, Russellville, passed away on Thursday, February 09, 2017 at Southern Magnolia Nursing Home in Golden, MS.
Mrs. Wright was a member of First United Methodist Church of Russellville and had worked for many years as a seamstress and also a school cook. She will be most remembered for her 20 plus years of serving as a Foster Grandparent at West Elementary School in Russellville where she finally retired in 2013 due to health issues. She loved being around the children and they all loved her.
The visitation will be 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Friday, February 10, 2017 at Spry Memorial Chapel. The funeral will be at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, February 11, 2017 at Spry Memorial Chapel with Bro. Roger Wood officiating. Burial will be at Shottsville Cemetery.
She was preceded in death by her husband, W.H. Wright; step-son, Walton R. Wright; parents, William Authur & Lizzie (Brown) Shotts; siblings, Aaron Shotts, Ray Shotts, I.J. Shotts, Leon Shotts, Edna Holcomb, Jessica Smith, Loree Houlditch; and 2 infant siblings. She leaves to cherish her memory a host of nieces & nephews.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to the nurses and staff of Country Cottage in Russellville, Southern Magnolia Nursing Home in Golden, Gentiva Hospice, Bro. Roger Wood, and Spry Memorial Chapel for their assistance during this time.
