Patricia Davis Stovall – Obituary

patPatricia Davis Stovall, 75, died on Monday, Nov. 21, 2016, after a 10-year battle with Alzheimer’s disease. She was proceeded in death by her beloved parents, Chester Davis and Pat York Davis. Survivors include brother, Jeffery Lee Davis (Jacqui); husband of 53 years, Stephen; daughter, Vicki Frost (Barry); grandchildren, Lora Leigh Frost and Michael Woodruff; great-grandchild, Kynley Woodruff; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was born Aug. 26, 1941 in Nauvoo, Alabama. Moved to Decatur in 1963 following her marriage to Stephen. She was a graduate of The University of North Alabama and The University of Alabama at Birmingham, where she earned a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in elementary education. She was employed in the Decatur City School System where she served as a sixth grade school teacher for 32 years before retiring in 1995.

Visitation will be Wednesday, Nov. 23, 2016 from 1 to 3 p.m. at Central Park Baptist Church, Decatur, with services immediately following. Caleb Miller, Reverend Jackie Kay and Reverend Craig Carlisle officiating. Burial will follow in Roselawn Cemetery. Hartselle Heritage Funeral Home is directing.

Mrs. Stovall loved the mountains of Western North Carolina, road trips with no destination, the spring time planting season, and Alabama gymnastics and football. She will be greatly missed by all who loved her.
