Hoyt Michael “Mike” Smith, 64 of Toney, Alabama died on Saturday, November 12, 2016, at his home.
Born Tuesday, April 15, 1952 in Ardmore, Alabama, he was the son of the late Hoyt Oron Smith and Christine Willingham Smith. Mike was a Veteran of the US Navy, serving in Vietnam. He was a star athlete in football and basketball and graduated from Ardmore High School in 1970. He was preceded in death by his father: Hoyt Oron Smith.
Surviving are his mother: Christine Willingham Smith of Toney, AL, son, Michael “Miki” (Kiyoka) Smith of Japan, daughter, Meaghan (Travis) Smith of Friendship, TN, brothers, George (Joy) Smith of Toney, AL and James (Angela) Smith of Toney, AL, sisters, Judy Gochenour & Bill Anderson of Ardmore, TN and Jacque (Scott) Hill of Toney, AL, and grandchildren: Dylan Smith, Brandon Smith, and Leia Smith.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM on Friday, November 18, 2016, at Ardmore Chapel Funeral Home, Ardmore, Alabama with Bro. Lynn Marshall officiating. Burial will be in Gatlin Cemetery, Ardmore, AL.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Thursday, November 17, 2016, at Ardmore Chapel Funeral Home, Ardmore, Alabama.
