Nancy Ruth Redding, 88 formerly of Greenhill, Alabama, died on Tuesday, November 8, 2016 in Arlington, Texas.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 22 from 5:00-8:00 p.m. at Greenhill Funeral Home. The Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, November 23 at 1:00 p.m. at Greenhill Funeral Home and burial will follow in Greenhill Cemetery.
Ruth was born in Lauderdale County, Alabama to Charlie Ira and Eva Johnson. She graduated from Florence State Teachers College and began teaching in Lauderdale County Schools where she taught for 23 years. She was an avid reader and loved artistic hobbies.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer James Redding and son, Michael.
She is survived by: daughter, Nancy; son, Charles and his wife, Sandra; two grandchildren, Jenna and Kyler. She was living in Arlington, TX with her son, Charles and his family. Ruth was an active member of Lamar Baptist Church where she was involved in Senior Adult activities and taught a 4-yr.-old Sunday school class until age 80.
