Margaret Kephart Phifer, 87, of Sheffield, died November 12, 2016. The family will receive friends Friday, November 18, 2016, beginning at 10:30 am at Morrison Funeral Home, Tuscumbia. A memorial service will immediately follow at 11 am in the funeral home chapel.
Mrs. Phifer was a native of Florence, but lived most of her life in Sheffield. She was a retired teacher from the Sheffield City Schools and was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Sheffield. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Clyde Phifer; and parents, Ray and Frances Kephart.
Margaret is survived by her daughters, Kathryn “Kathy” Wingard, Melisa “Lisa” Ford (Mick), and Susan Chambers (Frank); brothers, James Ray Kephart (Mary) and Robert Lewis Kephart (Joan); grandchildren, Karyn Wingard Manuel (Jeff), Andrea Cruz (Rene), Frank Chambers III, Michael Ford (Jo), Keeley White (Barry), and Karen Pledger (Phil); ten great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
The family expresses special thanks to the staff of Hospice of the Shoals.
