Miriam Dendy, 90, of Huntsville, passed away Tuesday. Miriam spent her life in service to Christ, her family and her community. Her life centered around the church, beginning with her childhood church, Cameron UMC in Hurricane Valley and continuing throughout her adult life at Trinity UMC in Huntsville. She gave and loved freely and she was likewise loved by all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Troy Daniel Dendy; sister, Elizabeth Riddick Smith; brothers, Edwin Riddick and Frank Riddick; and parents, Benjamin Franklin and Mary Frances Riddick.
Survivors include daughter, Gloria Ann Burke of Huntsville; sons, Thomas Daniel Dendy of New Market, William Edwin Dendy of Marietta, Ga, Richard Riddick Dendy of Birmingham, and Michael Joseph Dendy of Huntsville; sister, Minnie Frances Nash of High Point, NC; 13 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 12:30 to 2:00 p.m. Saturday at Trinity United Methodist Church. The funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Mac Buttram officiating. Burial will be in Cameron Cemetery in Gurley.
