Gordon Phillip Parrish age 64 of Florence, died Sunday October 9, 2016. His family will receive friends Tuesday, 11-1 p.m. at New Hope Church of Christ. His funeral service will follow in the church sanctuary at 1 p.m. with Alex Parrish, Will Young and Carl Siegenthaler officiating. Burial will be in the adjoining cemetery.
Mr. Parrish was a member and Deacon of New Hope Church of Christ. He was a 1971 graduate of Central High School and was a past member of Central Fire and Rescue and past member and officer of Central Volunteer Fire Department. He was preceded in death by his parents, Turner and Opal Parrish.
Survivors include his wife, Ann Peden Parrish; son, Alex Parrish (Ann Marie Lynch) of Muscle Shoals; daughter, Andrea Young (Will) of Florence; sister, Judy Rikard of Killen; grandchildren, Blakely Parrish and Ella Young.
Pallbearers are Kyle Burns, Harry Peden, Andy Terry, Mark Smith, Adam Smith and Jeremy Gargis.
Honorary Pallbearers are Paul Peden, Cleve Miles, Dale Cochran, Morris Willett, Ricky Thornton, and the Elders and Deacons of New Hope Church of Christ.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Central Volunteer Fire Department.
The family expresses a heartfelt thank you to Amedisys Hospice, especially Melissa and Dawn.
