John “Jack” Hudson Norman – Obituary

jackJohn “Jack” Hudson Norman of Huntsville passed away peacefully at home September 29, 2016 after a battle with cancer. He was born and lived most of his life in New Orleans. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest B. Norman Jr. and Emma Couret Norman, and brother, Thomas H. Norman.
Survivors include his wife, Dianna Rushing Norman; and children, Caroline N. Kirsch (Jeff) of Atlanta, John “Hudson” Norman of Missoula, MO, Rebecca Grelier Slaven (Stuart) and Natalie Elise Rushing, both of Huntsville; grandchildren, Linden Jefferson Kirsch and Kathryn Jolie Kirsch of Atlanta, and Alexander M. Grelier and Jackson W. Grelier of Huntsville; sister, Margaret H. Norman; and brother, Ernest B. Norman, III.
Jack attended Jesuit High School in New Orleans and graduated from Tulane University Law School, practicing law for over 40 years. He was the owner of Casey Title in New Orleans and a member of several Carnival organizations. He loved dancing, telling jokes, coaching and cheering at his grandsons’ games, his dogs, Maggie and Darby, and gardening. He was also a proud fan of the New Orleans Saints.
Visitation will be at 10 a.m. Monday, October 10 at Church of the Nativity, Episcopal in Huntsville. The service will follow at 11 a.m. with The Reverend Andy Anderson and The Reverend Richard Norman officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Greater Huntsville Humane Society, 2812 Johnson Road, Huntsville, AL 35805 or a charity of choice.
