Orva Ray Dulaney – Obituary

Orva Ray Dulaney, 99 died Monday, August 29, 2016, at the North Mississippi Medical Center Hospice Unit in Tupelo. He was born August 22, 1917, to Alonzo and Cora Compton Dulaney. He was a member and deacon of First Baptist Church in Mantachie. He retired from Day-Brite and owned and operated his gun shop until his death. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II where he served as a combat medic.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday, September 2, at the First Baptist Church in Mantachie with Dr. John Adams officiating. Burial will be in the Mantachie Cemetery. McNeece-Morris Funeral Home of Mantachie is entrusted with arrangements.

He is survived by nephews, Charlie Coggins, Billy Joe Coggins, Tommy Coggins, and Danny Coggins, all of Columbus; a host of other nieces and nephews; and his sister-in-law and special nephew, Costell and Donnie Morrow.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 76 years, Odelle Nanney Dulaney, on April 19, 2016; his son, Paul Ray Dulaney, on April 20, 1948; his parents; one brother; and five sisters.

Pallbearers will be the deacons of First Baptist Church in Mantachie.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until service time Friday at the First Baptist Church in Mantachie.
