Sandra Rosa Vogt Shipman – Obituary

sandraDr. Sandra Rosa Vogt Shipman of Huntsville passed away after a stubborn and courageous battle with cancer on August 30, 2016. Dr. Shipman was born in Pensacola, FL, the only child of Ernest and Zelma Vogt. She worked for the Huntsville City School Systems as a teacher and Vice- Principal at Grissom High School and as Director of Curriculum at the Central Office. She served on the Board of AGAPE until her passing and was a longtime faithful member of the Church of Christ. She was preceded in death by her dear husband of 57 years, Dr. David L. Shipman and her parents, Ernest and Zelma Vogt. She is survived by her children: Cynthia (Keith) Rosenblum, Dr. Connie Schultz and Anthony (Paula) Shipman. She was very proud of her grandchildren: Brittany (Evan) Henegar, Brett Rosenblum, Savannah Shipman, Caitlyn Schultz, Sylvia Shipman, Rebekah Schultz and Chelsea Rosenblum. A Celebration of Life service will be held Saturday, September 03, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. preceded by a visitation with the family from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. , all at the Mayfair Church of Christ with Jimmy Ray Blackmon, Gary Bradley and Joe Essner officiating. Burial will follow in Maple Hill Cemetery with Berryhill Funeral Home directing. Dr. Shipman would have appreciated donations to AGAPE in her memory.
