Thomas Scott “Tommy”/”Goat” Brackin, 53, died Wednesday, March 9, 2016, at Helen Keller Hospital in Sheffield. His funeral will be Saturday at 3 p.m. at Jackson Memory Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1-3 p.m. just prior to the funeral.
Tommy was a loving husband, father, son, brother, and a friend to all who know him. He was also a loving “Paw-Paw” to both Carson and Grayson Tate, his two grandsons. He was a member of Parkview Baptist Church , Tuscumbia, Alabama, where he faithfully served both locally and internationally.
He was preceded in death by his father, William Thomas Brackin (Bill).
He is survived by wife of 31 years, Tina; two daughters, Teila Tate (Matt) and Tonya Brackin; his mother, Peggy Sue Brackin; four brothers, Randy Cross (Kay), Miles Cross (Elaine), Jeff Nicholson, and Neal Nicholson (Vicki); and two sisters, Shannon Agee (Tim) and sister/niece Amy Cross Crumpton.
Pallbearers will be Tim Pierce, Jeff Liles, Tommy Liles, Gary Brown, Thomas King, and Greg Briscoe. Honorary pallbearers are his nephews.
