ATHENS-The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency has issued a statement confirming their involvement with the use-of-force incident involving the Athens Police Department:
” On Thursday., Feb. 11, the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s (ALEA) State Bureau of Investigation (SBI) was requested by Athens Police Chief Floyd Johnson to conduct an investigation into the death of a patient at Athens-Limestone Hospital. The patient’s death occurred after a use-of-force incident involving two Athens Police Officers. An autopsy has been conducted and results are pending. Nothing further is available as the investigation is ongoing.”
