Local Career Tech Students Participate in the ninth annual NW-SCC welding competition.

MUSCLE SHOALS – Local high schools students will demonstrate their skills in the 10th annual welding competition and the fourth annual cosmetology skills competition Friday, February 19th, at Northwest-Shoals Community College’s (NW-SCC) Shoals campus.

 

The Secondary technical/vocational schools have been invited to compete in cosmetology skills and welding skills competitions. The welding competition will feature four contests: 7018 (stick welding), 6010 (stick welding), Flux-Core (wire welding), and Torch. Each school will be divided between Dual Enrollment/Dual Credit, Non Dual Enrollment/Dual Credit, and Agriculture department students. The judges will of business and industry partners. The cosmetology skills competition will feature four contests: Cosmetology, Men’s Hair Design, Esthetics and Nail Care.

 

The Salon and Spa and Welding programs at NW-SCC are designed to develop the skills necessary to enter and maintain a job in their respective fields. They are equipped with industry standard equipment and facilities to provide training for new students or professionals who need to enhance their skills.
