Margie Lee Harris Hagood, 86, died Jan. 22, 2016, at Cottage of the Shoals, Tuscumbia, Alabama.
She was born in Lawrence County, Alabama, and was a bus driver for the Lawrence County Board of Education.
She is survived by her son, Reginald Hagood and Joyce, of Russellville; daughter, Rheta Harrison and Wade, of Mount Hope; granddaughters, Andrea Brewer and Greg, Alison Terry and Josh, Ashley Pitt and Mark, Grace Moore and Jake; grandson, Ryan Harrison and Rachel; great-grandchildren, Carson Brewer, Jackson Brewer, Ivey Blake Terry, Briar Terry, Randi Terry, Marlie Terry, Hayden Addison and Cooper Pitts.
She was preceded in death by husband, Willard Hagood; father, John Harris; and mother, Margaret Bond Harris.
Pallbearers will be Billy Joe Wimberly, Clarence Coan, Michael Bradford, Mike Carpenter, Jordan Harrison, Doug Anderton and Mark Craig. Honorary pallbearers are Malcolm Walker, Ray Sherrill, Braxton Craig, Reggie Sprinkle, Lonnie Grissom, Ronald Burke, Bill Agee and Hutson Bradford.
Margie Lee Harris Hagood went home to be with the Lord Jan. 22, 2016, at the age of 86. She was born in Flat Rock community in Lawrence County on Sept. 17, 1929.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Willard. They were married Nov. 27, 1948.
She was a member of New Zion Baptist Church. She was a school bus driver for Hatton High School for 21 years.
The family requests that any donations to be made in her honor be made to New Zion Baptist Church. The family would like to thank the staff of the Cottage of the Shoals for their care and compassion for our mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
Visitation is noon to 2 p.m., Monday, Jan. 25, 2016, at Lawrence Funeral Home, Moulton. The funeral service is 2 p.m. Monday, Jan. 25, 2016, in the funeral home chapel, with Brother Bruce Fitzgerald and the Rev. Roger Houston officiating. Interment will be in Sanderson Cemetery, Town Creek.
