Travis Edward Tucker, 85, of Florence, passed away January 20, 2016 at his residence. He was a member of Hendrix Chapel church of Christ; a U.S. Navy veteran; and a pipefitter with Local 760 where he retired after 62 years of service.
Visitation will be Saturday, January 23, 2016 from 5 – 8 p.m. at Greenview Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held Sunday, January 24, 2016 at 2 p.m. at Hendrix Chapel church of Christ with Wayne Wood and Jerry Campbell officiating. Burial will follow in Pisgah Cemetery with military honors. The body will be placed in the church one hour prior to the service.
Mr. Tucker was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers; one sister; a son, Michael Tucker; and a daughter, Kimberly Tucker.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Lois McMullan Tucker; daughter-in –law, Bobbie Jean Tucker; grandchildren, Wesley Michael Tucker (Leah), Bradley Neil Tucker, Kelli Danielle Jones (Mike), and great-grandchildren. Chandler, Makenna, Mileigh, Palmer, and Hallie Tucker, Jaycie Goodloe, and Brantley White.
Active pallbearers will include: Trigger Oakley, David West, Bob Reynolds, Buddy McClure, Jeff Miller, Sammy Morris, Tommy Hanback, and Kevin Messer.
Great-grandsons, Chandler Tucker, and Brantley White will serve as honorary pallbearers.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to Dr. Lyman Mitchell, Pam Hill, Dr. William Heaton, Will Burhans, Hospice of Tennessee Valley; Bridget, Cindy, and Sandra.
