Margaret Kash Wlodarski – Obituary

wolksiMargaret Kash Wlodarski passed away January 2, 2016. Margaret was born July 11, 1926 in Lynchburg, Virginia to Robert and Eleanor Kash, the youngest of five children. She grew up on Montview Dairy Farm where her father was the farm manager. As a child Margaret was active in church, Quaker Memorial Presbyterian Church, and 4-H where she won many awards for her victory garden. After graduation from high school she went to Madison College where she graduated in 1947 with a Bachelors degree in Mathematics. Margaret went to work for NACA at Langley, Virginia, where she had many fond memories and met many lifelong friends including Adelaide Steinberg. Margaret met her husband, John Wlodarski of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, at a Friday afternoon social of her NACA co-workers. They were married in 1953 and then moved in 1954 to Huntsville, Alabama.

In Huntsville, Margaret enjoyed meeting many new friends first in the Hillandale neighborhood and then in 1957 when they moved to their new house on Dell Avenue. Margaret was still living in her house on Dell when she passed away. She was very determined that she continued to live in the house that she and John built.

Around Huntsville, Margaret was known for the cakes and cheese straws she baked, baking several each week for friends and people she met in her day-to-day activities. Margaret was also very active in many women’s historical organizations. She held several positions in the organizations.

Margaret was preceded in death by her husband, John Wlodarski, her brother Robert Kash and her sisters Eleanor Evans, Frances Plunkett, and Virginia Snyder. She is survived by her daughters Beverly Wlodarski and Nelda Hobbs of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, M. Sabine Wlodarski, M. Ferne Wlodarski, and son J. Frank Wlodarski and wife Amy all of Huntsville, Alabama. She is also survived by her two grandsons, Schuyler and Coleman Wlodarski as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
