MaddieMrs. Mattie S. Willingham Austin, 89, of Hillsboro, died Dec. 6, 2015.
Her funeral will be Friday, Dec. 11, 2015, at 1 p.m. at Macedonia M.B. Church in Town Creek, with Jackson Memory Funeral Home directing. Burial will follow in Rocky Hill Cemetery in Courtland. She will be placed in the church one hour prior to the funeral. Public viewing will be today and Thursday from 10-6 at the funeral home.
She was born June 28, 1926, to Henry and Estella Willingham. She was preceded in death by both parents and her husband, Robert Edward Austin.
Survivors include eight daughters, Mattie (John) White, Spartanburg, South Carolina, Mary (Arnie) Buckmon, Florence, Josephine (Mitchell) Jerald, Knoxville, Tennessee, Betty (Elvis) Rolle, San Diego, California, Patricia (Rodney) Collins, Racheal (James) Baker, Hillsboro, Alfenia (Quinton) Elliott, Decatur, Cynthia Austin, Decatur; three sons, Robert J. Austin and Kenneth N. Austin, both of Hillsboro, and David Austin, Niagara Falls, New York; one loving aunt, Kate Cowley McDonald, Spring City, Tennessee; a very special sister-in-law, Annie Austin, Hillsboro; 14 grandchildren and eight great- grandchildren.
