Five Arrested In Decatur House Party…Drugs And Gunshots Involved

decatur police carDECATUR-The Decatur Police Department made several arrests regarding a large house party in Decatur.  The arrests were made on Friday,  October 30.  Here is the statement from the Decatur Police Department:

“SYNOPSIS OF OFFENSE & ARREST:

During the month of October 2015, the Decatur Police Department received multiple tips about a large house party at 507 4th St SW. The party was said to be on October 30, 2015. The tips that were being received by the Police Department were in reference to threats of shootings at the party.

On October 29, 2015, members of the Decatur Police Department’s Anti-Crime Unit made contact at the residence. Officer’s spoke with the residents who stated that they were not sure if they were having a party, and they were not aware of any threats of violence being directed at their residence. They acknowledged the police department for taking steps to ensure their safety.

On October 30, 2015, the Anti-Crime Unit extra patrolled 4th St SW. During that time, traffic control became a big issue due to the large amount of citizens attending the party. Vehicles were blocking the roadway and were parked illegally. Officer’s made contact with several subjects on the street and stopped multiple vehicles in that area for traffic violations.

While patrolling the area, Officer’s heard multiple gunshots coming from the residence. During the commotion, Officer’s stopped multiple vehicles and persons attempting to leave the residence. During that time, Officer’s arrested multiple subjects. Officer’s located a quantity of marijuana, drug paraphernalia, and liquor. Officer’s also located three loaded firearms and several boxes of ammunition. One of the firearms had been previously reported stolen from another jurisdiction. The following were arrested:


Michael Ryan McCullough was arrested for Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. McCullough was transported to the Decatur City Jail where he remains in lieu of a $500.00 bond.Devon Sovonta Tucker was arrested for Minor in Possession of Liquor and Running a Stop Sign. Tucker was transported to the Decatur City Jail where he remains in lieu of a $1,000.00 bond.

Markieth Reynolds was arrested for Possession of Marijuana 2nd Degree. Reynolds was transported to the Decatur City Jail where he remains in lieu of a $500.00 bond.

Courtland Jequan Parker was arrested for Possession of Marijuana 2nd Degree and Running Stop Sign. Parker was transported to the Decatur City Jail where he remains in lieu of a $1,000.00 bond.

Laquisha Yvonne Harrison was arrested for a Failure to Appear warrant through Morgan County. She was transported to the Morgan County Jail where she was later released on an unspecified bond.

The investigation is ongoing and further charges are pending.”
