Annette McLendon – Obituary

Annette McLendon, age 75, passed from her earthly life on July 22, 2015. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert L. McLendon, and her parents, Clarence and Lucille Hill. She leaves to mourn her passing her daughter and son-in-law, Amy and Shea Thomas; and her grandchildren, Logan and Laura Riley Thomas, of Huntsville; her brother, Richard Hill (Emily) of Ocean Springs, MS; sisters-in-law, Frankie Tolbert (Jerry) of Rainbow City, AL, and Kay Ellison (Dan) of Gadsden; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be on Sunday, July 26, 2015 at Laughlin Service Funeral Home in Huntsville, with visitation beginning at 2 p.m. and the service at 3 p.m. with Rev. Coy Hallmark officiating. Burial will follow at Maple Hill Cemetery.

Annette is fondly remembered by many friends and associates. She influenced numerous lives in the 31 years she taught in the Huntsville school system. In her retirement years she enjoyed the activity of line dancing at the Senior Center where she developed lasting friendships, participation in the Senior group at Crestwood Hospital where she served a term on the board of directors, and membership in the Widows and Widowers of Alabama group which she was instrumental in helping develop. She was a member of First United Methodist Church of Huntsville.
