Regena Rae Mayo went home to be in the presence of the Lord on Saturday, July 18, 2015. Regena was born in Elkhart, IN on November 28, 1954, to Garfield Allen Overton and Edna Faye Falls. She is survived by husband Abel J. Mayo of Decatur, stepmother Versie Walker Overton of Ozark, AL, brother Ken Overton (Mary) of Daleville, AL, daughter Nina Postell (Jeff) grandsons Cameron and Cayden of Haileyville, AL, son Brandon Pruitt (Kristen), grandchildren Kaitlyn, Jayla, and Calub of Double Springs, AL, daughter Melissa McConnell (Byron), granddaughter Estelle of Bremerton, WA, and daughter Felicia Rosenbaum (John) and expected granddaughter Ella Jane of Cleveland, GA.
Regena worked in office administration for the Walmart distribution center in Cullman, AL, the Baptist Association of North Florida, and for Hospice of the Valley here in Decatur.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers that Memorial Contributions be made to Hospice of the Valley or to South Decatur Church of God.
Funeral service will be Tuesday, July 21, 2015 at 3:00pm at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jay Rhodes and Sister Lynn Rhodes officiating with burial in the Fairview Church Cemetery in Winston County with Peck Funeral Home directing. Visitation will be from 1:00pm until service time on Tuesday at the funeral home.
