Mary Ellen Brown McDonald, beloved mother, wife, grandmother and great-grandmother passed away Thursday, June 25, 2015, at the age of 90.
Mrs. McDonald was a native of Sheffield and retired as a Personnel Representative from Reynolds Metals Company after 30 years of service. She was a member of First United Methodist Church of Sheffield and a past member of the Tennessee Valley Art Association, Friends of Sheffield Public Library, Tennessee Valley Country Club, Florence Golf and Country Club, Alabama Department of Industrial Relations, Muscle Shoals Personnel Association, and the Eastern Star.
Mrs. McDonald was preceded in death by her husband, Emery F. McDonald; parents, Charlie and Ethel Gargis Brown; brother, John P. “Bud” Brown; and grandmother, Nettie Brown.
She is survived by her son, Michael L. McDonald (Eileen); daughter, Patricia A. Tabereaux (Alton); grandchildren, M. Ross McDonald, Patrick E. McDonald, William C. McDonald, Matthew F. McDonald, Dr. Paul B. Tabereaux and Michele Tabereaux Hatcher; and six great-grandchildren.
The visitation will be from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. Sunday, June 28, 2015 at Morrison Funeral Home, Tuscumbia. The funeral will follow at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Bill Bedsole officiating. Burial will be at Oakwood Cemetery in Sheffield.
Honorary pallbearers will be Don Armstrong, Melvin Austin, Jim Holland, Rex Keeton, Dr. Robert Mathews and Kenny Webb.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Sheffield Public Library.
