FLORENCE – The Salvation Army’s Annual Empty Bowl Luncheon was a big hit with participants and sponsors alike. The event always draws a big crowd and Wednesday’s eventwas a huge success. Hundreds of folks from all over The Shoals were treated so some gourmet soups, chowders, bisques and various and sundry goodies.
The luncheon every year raises money for the Salvation Army’s food program which serves about 500 meals every week throughout the year. It is the Army’s only fundraiser of the year. Members of the Woman’s Auxiliary, which hosts the luncheon, work all year for the one-day event.
The Quad-Cities Daily stopped by for a while to taste some of the soups and take EVENT PHOTOS. We present the pics here.
