Funeral services for Ruby Anna Heard Daniel, age 80, of Wadley, formerly of Florence, Alabama, will be held Monday, Jan. 26, 2015, at 11 a.m., from Mountain Springs Baptist Church with Rev. Chris Underwood and Rev. Jimmy Sprayberry officiating. Burial will follow at Wadley City Cemetery with Benefield Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 3-5 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 25, 2015.
Mrs. Daniel passed away on Friday, Jan. 23, 2015, at East Alabama Medical Center.
Survivors include: two daughters, Sherry Daniel Sprayberry (husband, Jimmy), of Wadley, and Lori Daniel, of Wadley; one son, Chip Daniel (wife, Shannon), of Florence; four grandchildren, Drew Sprayberry, Hayden Woodruff, Ben Daniel and Sam Daniel; two great-grandchildren, Ava Grace Woodruff and Jude Lee Sprayberry; one sister, Jean Owen Cosper, of Oxford; and two brothers, George Thomas Heard, of Oxford, and Charles Lee Heard of Decatur.
Pallbearers will be Wallace Bates, John Heard, Phillip Heard, Robert Eason, Jr., Donald Heard, Bud Heard and Oliver Heard.
A Randolph County native, Mrs. Daniel was born on Nov. 29, 1934, the daughter of Stell Blake and Lanie Frances Morrison Heard. She was a member of Mount Springs Baptist Church and was a retired children’s minister at Highland Baptist Church in Florence, Alabama. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Bobby Daniel; grandson, Lee Daniel Sprayberry; two sisters, Myrtis Heard Bates and Daisy Heard Eason; and three brothers, Arthur Heard, Arnton Heard and Albert Heard.
