Claude “Pete” Batts, Jr., age 68, of Chattanooga, TN, passed away on Monday, January 19, 2015. He was a member of OLPH Catholic Church, Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. and retired from EI DuPont de Nemours.
Claude was preceded in death by his parents, Claudie and Maggie Batts; and his brother, Tyrone Batts.
He is Survived by his wife, Marilyn P. Batts of Chattanooga, TN; daughter, Tracy Batts (Robert) Bosley of Atlanta, GA; son, Claude “Terry” (Tia Adams) Batts of Charlotte, NC; grandchildren, Tera Batts, Tianna Batts, Nia Bosley, and Nadia Bosley; a devoted nephew, Tommie L. Batts, Jr. of Charlotte, NC; brothers, Tommie L. (Teresa) Batts, Sr., Fred E. (Eleanor) Batts, and Marvin L. (Betty) Batts all of Huntsville, AL; sisters, Geraldine B. Clark and Freda Batts of Huntsville, AL; sisters-in-law, Gloria P. Batts and Veronica P. Curtis of Huntsville, AL, and Millie M. Batts of Chattanooga, TN; brother-in-law, Willard Powers of Huntsville, AL and father in-law, Monroe (Lorraine) Powers, Jr. of South Pittsburg, TN; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and dear friends.
A Visitation for family and friends will be held from 1:00 p.m. until 3:30 p.m. on Sunday, January 25, 2015 at Taylor Funeral Home of Chattanooga, 3417 Wilcox Boulevard, Chattanooga, TN 37411 (423) 622-8152.
Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. on Monday, January 26, 2015, at the Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, 501 South Moore Road, Chattanooga, TN 37412. Interment will be in the Valhalla Memory Gardens with Taylor Funeral Home of Chattanooga, directing.
