Mr. Preston L. Watkins was born November 26, 1933 to the late Oscar Watkins Sr. and Mary Cater. He confessed hope in Christ at an early age under the leadership of Rev. Nathaniel Coleman and joined Mt. Zion M.B. Church. He was an active member of the Agape Love Outreach Ministry.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Geraldine M. Watkins; a sister, Susie Mae Garth; three brothers, John B. Owens, Milton Ashford and Winston J. Ashford. He departed this life December 23, 2014 at Mount Royal Towers in Vestavia Hills, Alabama.
He was employed at Prestolite Electric in Decatur, AL. where he retired after 27 years. His life will always fill a place in the heart of his daughter; Jennifer and son-in-law Eugene. One brother, Oscar Watkins Jr. of Courtland, AL., two brothers-in-law; Robert Lynch of Hillsboro, AL. and Mattie Thorn of Huntsville, AL., two aunts; Martha Braden of Decatur, AL. and Irene Davis of Huntsville, AL., 17 nieces, 20 bephews and a host of great nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.
