This is in memory of and appreciation for Daniel Benjamin Nisenbaum (Nisen):
He earnestly wanted to make the world a better place. He loved helping others, and helped many. He loved physics, flying, and fixing things. He could build anything from a house to a linear accelerator. He worked hard. He loved simple beauty. Despite many trials, he did the best he could. Born January 4, 1924, he died Thursday, December 25, 2014 after a long illness.
Dan is survived by his three children, Jan Grossberg of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Steve Nisen of Manhattan Beach, California and Jack Nisen of Lima, Peru; his former spouse, Naomi Lucile Nisen of Manhattan Beach, California, mother of his children, with whom he remained friends; his loving sister, Judith Cohn of Los Angeles, California; his grandchildren Jamie, Jeff, Lauren, Greg, Allison, Yaroslav and Leeza; and many nieces, nephews and family with whom he regularly remained in touch. His many friends and colleagues will miss him very much. His family is especially indebted to his loyal friend Claudiu Muntele of Huntsville, Alabama.
Dan’s wish to be cremated is being honored by his family. No formal funeral service will be held.
