Funeral for Joyce Pauline Gibson, 88, of Falkville will be Saturday, December 20, 2014, at 1 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Rickey Shaw officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation will be tonight from 5 to 8 at the funeral home.
Mrs. Gibson died on Thursday, December 18, 2014 at Decatur Morgan Hospital. She was born September 12, 1926, in Morgan County to Joseph Edward Shaw and Martha Emily Marm (Vest) Shaw. She was the Hartselle Enquirer’s writer of the “Massey News” and was a cook at Greg’s Grocery. Mrs. Gibson was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Gibson; one daughter, Frances Vest; her parents; and three brothers, Johnnie, George and James Shaw.
Survivors include one son, Ralph Gibson Jr. of Morgan City; one daughter, Patricia Story of Hartselle; one sister, Martha Asherbranner of Massey; eight grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and three great-great- grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Bryan Story, Bradley Story, Pat Weissand, Shane Raper, Lee Gibson and Casey Gibson.
