Calvin Coolidge Stevenson – Obituary

Calvin Coolidge Stevenson, age 90, of Florence, died Monday, Dec. 15, 2014. Visitation will be today from 1 p.m. until 2 p.m. at Eastwood Church of Christ with Brother Sonny Owens and Brother Steven Hovater officiating. Burial will be at Tri-Cities Memorial Gardens. Family will serve as pallbearers.

Mr. Stevenson was a member and elder at Eastwood Church of Christ. He was retired with Ford Motor Company and was a U.S. Army veteran having served in World War II honored with a Bronze Star and Purple Heart. He was president of the Student Council while attending Northwest Shoals Community College and was a previous member of the Civil Service Board in Florence.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Marcella Flippo Stevenson.

Survivors are his children, Rod Stevenson (Gail), Vicki Hovater (John), Kenny Stevenson (Darlene), and Mark Stevenson (Veda); grandchildren, Heather Coleman (Ronnie), Paige Stevenson, Steven Hovater (Kelly), Michael Hovater (Martha), Jeremi Vo, Chasity Beller, and Dustin Ballinger (Krystal); and great-grandchildren, Bailey Coleman, Riley Coleman, Micah Hovater, Izzy Hovater, Lucy Hovater, Deacon Hovater, Sadie Beller, Baylen Ballinger, Jordan Hovater, Katie Hovater, and Elise Hovater.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Esther Flippo Hunt Memorial Scholarship Fund at Northwest Shoals Community College, P.O. Box 2390, Muscle Shoals, AL 35662
