He is survived by his wife, Billie Marie Johnson Rooks, of Decatur; his daughter, Mikki Rooks Davis (Chris); and grandchildren, Hawkins, Brennan, and Aislinn, of Tuscaloosa; his son, Alan Christian Rooks (Jennifer), and granddaughter, Emmy, of Madison; his sister, DiAnne Rooks Caspers (Bob), of Decatur; his niece, Annelle Caspers Barker (Josh); and great- nieces, Vanessa and Karoline, of St. Louis, Missouri; his nephew, SSG Jason Robert Caspers (Laura); and great-niece, Sophia, of Ft. Hood, Texas; and his cousins, Tony W. Rooks, of Columbia, Tennessee, Dan Johnson of Trinity and Steve Mobley (Robin), of Hoover.

The family requests any memorials be made to the American Cancer Society . By his wishes and in lieu of a funeral, there will be a gathering at his sister’s home at a date to be determined.
