Jessie J. Owens, 83, of Florence, AL, passed away October 15, 2014 after a brief illness. Mr. Owens was retired from Lauderdale County Road Department as a heavy equipment operator and was a Baptist.
Mr. Owens is survived by wife Sue Danley Owens; daughter Barbara Clemons and husband Kenneth; sister Addie (Sis) Pitts; and special pet Kellie. He was preceded in death by his parents Cephus and Lena Inman Owens and his brothers Clarence (Coon) Owens, A.D. (Monk) Owens, and J.C. Owens.
Visitation will be Friday, October 17, 2014 from 10:00 A.M.-12:00 P.M. at Greenhill Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at 12:00 P.M. with Bro. Perry Taylor officiating. Burial will be in Shiloh Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jason Danley, Michael Danley, Heath Pitts, J.B. Bradley, Bobby Newton, and Tommy Coker.
