Nellie Rue Griggs Yielding – Obituary

NellieNellie Rue Griggs Yielding, 84, went home to be with the Lord Sunday morning, October 5, 2014. She was born January 19, 1930, to Aden and Erin Griggs of the Ozark community. She enjoyed fishing, snuff dipping, cooking, reading, puzzles, gardening, and taking care of her children. She was a resident of The Meadows in Fulton and a member of East Fulton Baptist Church. Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, October 8, at the McNeece-Morris Funeral Home Chapel in Fulton with Bro. Bobby Jarrell, Bro. Billy Adams, and Bro. Lloyd Minor officiating. Burial will be in the Kirkville Cemetery.

She is survived by four sons, Danny Yielding of Fulton, Tim Yielding (Alisha) of Vidalia, LA, Bro. Michael Yielding (Ginger) of Fulton, and Rodney Yielding (Sharon) of Fairview; two daughters, Tammy Grudzinskas and Martha Dale Jarrell (Johnny), both of Fulton; one brother, Dexter Griggs (Carolyn) of Fulton; eight grandchildren, Tony Jarrell (Rebecca), Michael Jarrell (Leigh), Stefanie Barnard (Jonathan), Carrie Jackson (Brent), Justin Yielding, Hannah Yielding, Walt Ketchings (Sarah), and Suzanna Ketchings; eleven great-grandchildren, Becca, Sarah, Lydia, John Gabriel, and Zack Jarrell; Briley and Denver Barnard; Zada and Gage Jackson; Preston Shields; and D. J. Dulin. She was preceded in death by her husband of 40 years, Clifton Yielding; her parents; one sister, Mickey Grissom; two infant sisters, Helen and Pattie Griggs; a brother-in-law, John Grissom; a son-in-law, Tom Grudzinskas; and a host of aunts and uncles.

Pallbearers will be Tony Jarrell, Michael Jarrell, Justin Yielding, Jonathan Barnard, Brent Jackson, Matt Glissen, and Zack Jarrell.

Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p. m. Tuesday, October 7, at the funeral home.

The family would like to thank all her caregivers at The Meadows for their love and faithful care.
