Arrest Made In Colbert County On Arson 2nd and Breaking and Entering a Vehicle Charges

COLBERT COUNTY-Sheriff Ronnie May has Charged Michael Anthony Caudill with several charges.  Here is how the Colbert County Sheriff describe the events leading up to the arrest of Caudill:

“Micheal Anthony Caudill, age 26,of 350 Wayne Drive, Tuscumbia has been charged with the following:     Bond set at $7500
 
Count 1:  Unlawful Breaking and Entering a Motor Vehicle    
Count 2:  Arson 2nd degree
 
     On 9-23-14 a report was filed by the Pastor of the First Baptist Church at Colbert Hgts that someone had attempted to burn one of the church vans.  The church pastor along with a church member watched the security video.  The video showed a white station wagon pull into the parking lot and stop.  A white male got out of the station wagon, walked to the van, then opened the door,  leaned inside the returned to the station wagon and left.
     On 9-28-14 Micheal Anthony Caudill, a Colbert Hgts volunteer fireman, was arrested on unpaid traffic tickets by the State Troopers.  The Investigators were told by one of the deputies that Caudill drove a white station wagon.
     On 9-29-14 the investigators went to the jail and talked with Caudill about the church van fire.  Caudill admitted to trying to burn the van and driving the white station wagon.  He stated that he was bored and made a stupid mistake hoping the fire department would be called out to the fire.  Caudill would have responded with the fire department.”
