DECATUR-Decatur police received a call reporting the passing of counterfeit $100 bills.  Here is how the Police describe the event and arrest of one man:

SYNOPSIS OF OFFENSE & ARREST:

“On September 21st of 2014, the Dollar General Store on Danville Road reported receiving several counterfeit $100 bills at the store. On September 22nd of 2014, the S&S Quick Stop on Centron Drive reported receiving a counterfeit $100 bill at the store.

During the course of the investigation, Jeremy Antonio Orr aka Chatman was developed as a suspect.

On September 25th of 2014, Krystal’s Hamburgers reported receiving a counterfeit $100 bill at the restaurant. Officer Caffee and Officer Sharpley responded to the call. When officers arrived, they detained Jeremy Orr.

Orr was transported to the Decatur Police Department for further investigation. As a result, Jeremy Orr was charged with three counts of 1st Degree Possession of a Forged Instrument. Orr was processed into the Dectur City Jail and then transferred to the Morgan County Jail in lieu of a $15,000 bond.

Criminal Possession of Forged Instrument in the First Degree is a Class B felony.

The investigation is ongoing and more charges are pending.”
