TUPELO-On 7-17-26, officers responded to 830 South Gloster Street, North Mississippi Medical Center Emergency Room, in reference to a victim with a gunshot wound.
Officers also responded to scene of the crime, 1930 Briar Ridge Road, Sprint Mart. Detectives with the Tupelo Police Department’s Criminal Investigation Division responded to both scenes and gathered evidence and information.
Chad D. Burleson
On 7-18-26, after further investigation, Chad D. Burleson (30, Guntown) was arrested in a neighboring jurisdiction and charged with one count of Aggravated Assault.
A short time after Burleson’s arrest, the victim died as a result of his wounds and Burleson’s charge was enhanced to 1st Degree Murder.
On 7-19-26, Tupelo Municipal Court Judge Weir order Burleson to be held without bond. This case will be presented to the Lee County Grand Jury.
