Man Stopped for Intoxication…Arrested For Possession Of A Controlled Substance

DECATUR-The Decatur Police Department’s Anti-Crime Unit made a  stop of a pedestrian walking in the street.  The subject was intoxicated and an arrest was made.  Here is How officers describe the event:

SYNOPSIS OF OFFENSE & ARREST:

“On August 9, 2014, at approximately 1930hrs, Officers Michael Kitchens and Jonathan Macklin, members of the Decatur Police Department’s Anti-Crime Unit were patrolling in the area of 11th Ave NW. While in the area, officers observed a subject walking in the street. Officers further observed that the subject appeared to be intoxicated. Officers made contact with the subject and identified him as Carlos Dion McCaskey.

During the investigation, McCaskey was found to be under the influence of marijuana. Officers also located a quantity or crack cocaine and drug paraphernalia on McCaskey’s person. McCaskey was placed under arrest for Possession of a Controlled Substance, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Public Intoxication. McCaskey was transported to the Decatur City Jail where he was processed in without incident.

McCaskey will later be transferred to the Morgan County Jail in lieu of a $3,500.00 bond.”
