Mr. Augustin was a native of Lawrence County, TN, a Veteran of the Korean War, a Fourth Degree member of the Knights of Columbus and a lifelong member of the Loretto Sacred Heart Church. He married Loice Kerstiens and the two recently celebrated their 60th Wedding Anniversary. Larry was the Manager and President of Augustin Lumber Company, a business started by his grandfather W.H. Augustin in 1900. Larry retired after working there for 47 years. He was a man of many interests and enjoyed his retirement. He loved his grandchildren, gardening, and was an avid traveler. He visited 49 out of 50 states and many foreign countries. The funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, August 11, 2014 at Loretto Sacred Heart Church with Father Luckas and Deacon Sammy Beckman officiating. Burial to follow in the Sacred Heart Cemetery with military honors given at the graveside. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 10, 2014 at Loretto Memorial Chapel with a prayer service beginning at 7:00 p.m. Survivors include: Wife- Loice Kerstiens Augustin of Loretto, TN; 1 Son- Wayne Augustin and wife Pat of Loretto, TN; 3 Daughters- Jeanette Newton & husband Mike of Loretto, TN; Sherry Kimbrel & husband Mike of Loretto, TN; Lynn Clifton & husband Carl of Lawrenceburg, TN; 1 Sister- Angela Brewer of Greenhill, AL; 9 Grandchildren; 2 Step Grandchildren; 4 Great Grandchildren; 6 Step Great Grandchildren; 2 Step Great Great Grandchildren; Preceded in death by: Parents- Leonard & Helen O’Connor Augustin; Brother- Pat Augustin; Sister- Doris Nell Burch; Memorials may be made to the Loretto Sacred Heart School. The family would like to give a special thank you to the caregivers at NHC Lawrenceburg, Quality First Homecare, and Caris Healthcare. A special thank you goes out to a few special caregivers Holly, Breanna, and Dale. Larry’s entire family would like to thank each caregiver for the excellent care and love they provided.
