Hildred Martin Jeffreys, 74, of Decatur, formerly of Double Springs passed away on July 27, 2014 in Jasper.
She was born on September 28, 1939 in Double Springs. Mrs. Jeffreys graduated from Winston County High School. She was a devoted wife and mother, business owner, and later in life, a customer service representative at Decatur Mall for 19 years. She was active with Union Grove Freewill Baptist Church and the Union Grove Ladies Group. She was her grandkids #1 fan, and was given the nickname “Sweet Thing” by her Uncle Barney.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 29, 2014 from 6-8pm at Nichols Funeral Home in Double Springs where services will be held on Wednesday at 2:00pm. Brother Mickey Millican and Brother Thomas Martin will officiate. Burial will be in Winston Memorial Cemetery.
She is survived by her husband of 32 years, Charles Jeffreys; daughters, Rita (Carl) Hunter, Tammy (Kim) Miller and Leah (Prentice) Johnson; step son, Chris (Suzanne) Jeffreys; brothers, Howard (Shirley) Bonds, Eddie Bonds and Bill McRae; sisters, Mildred “Millie” (Marvin) Minton, Helen (Donald “Bo”) McVay and Martha Adams; she was MeMaw to 10 grandchildren, Kyle (Laura Ruth) Hunter, Megan (Ike) Williams, Amber (Bradly) Comeens, Rhett (Fiance Alivia) Miller, Caitlin Johnson, Lauren Johnson, Nikki (Johnny) Ellison, Kelsey Jeffreys, Chase (Kim) Wallace and Morgan (Shaun) Teeters; and 1 great grandchild, Myles Ellison and 3 more great grandchildren on the way; and sister in law Carol (Larry) Harris.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill Martin from 1958-1980; parents, Howard and Elizabeth Bonds; sister in laws, Betty Bonds and Beatrice McRae; brother in law, Bill Adams; and nephews, Chad Bonds and Mike Gilbreath.
