Funeral for Thelma Tucker Lamon, 84, of Birmingham will be today at 11 a.m. at Ridout’s Brown-Service with Bro. Paul Smith and Bro. Stan Prewett officiating with burial at Decatur City Cemetery. Visitation was June 20, 2014, from 6 to 8 at the funeral home.
Mrs. Lamon who died Thursday, June 19, 2014, was born November 2, 1929, in Morgan County to Thomas and Idella Tucker. She was a loving wife, mother and proud grandmother and great-grandmother.
She is survived by her husband Oscar Lamon; one daughter, Maria Lamon Holt of Birmingham, two grandchildren, Lauren Holt Shine and Leslie Holt Kelley and husband Dr. Stephen J. Kelley; four great-grandchildren, Demarcus Cole King. Derrin Isaiah King, Olivia Jo Kelley, Julia Reece Kelley; and one sister Jerry Smith.
