Funeral service for Don F. “Poppy” Williams, age 70, of Trinity will be Tuesday, June 3, 2014, at 11 a.m. at Parkway Funeral Home with Bro. Johnny Mayes officiating. Visitation will be tonight from 6 to 8 at the funeral home. Burial will be in Courtland Cemetery.
Mr. Williams, who died Saturday, May 31, 2014, at Decatur Morgan Hospital was born September 7, 1943, in Lawrence County to Lloyd Williams and Carrie Holderfield Williams. He was retired for 32 years as a machine repairmen and he loved Alabama Football. He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Billy, Jimmy, Joe and Bobby Williams.
Survivors include his wife, Gail Williams; sons, Mark Williams (Veronica) of Florida, Jason Williams (Trudy) of Tennessee; daughter, Rebekah McNair of Tennessee; stepson, Ben White and wife Shannon; grandchildren, seven grandsons; two granddaughters, Amber White and Ella White.
