Funeral service for Ms. Debra Jean Smith, 49 of Courtland, Alabama will be 1:00 pm, Wednesday, June 4, 2014 at Pleasant Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Courtland with Pastor Robert Pearl Jr. officiating and inhumation will follow in Pleasant Grove Church Cemetery. The body will lie in repose one hour prior to funeral. Public Viewing will be Tuesday from 10-7 at Reynolds Funeral Home.
On Saturday, May 31, 2014, she went to be with the Lord at Decatur Morgan Hospital-Decatur General Campus. She was born to Levolia Smith Jr. and the late Sarah Louise Mayes Smith on October 28, 1964 in Courtland, Alabama. She confessed Christ at an early age at Pleasant Grove Church where she served faithfully.
She was a loyal employee of Riteway Services for 26 years.
She leaves to cherish her memory: two loving daughters, Setika (Jemayel) Puryear of Town Creek; Jasmine Smith of Courtland; a loving father, Levolia Smith Jr; one sister, Christine Smith; three brothers, Timothy (Arneta) Smith, Christopher Smith and Courtney Smith all of Courtland; one granddaughter, Heaven Puryear of Town Creek; one niece, Chrishonda Smith; one nephew, Timothy “T.D.” Smith; a devoted uncle, Richard Mayes all of Courtland; two devoted friends, Dorothy King of Town Creek and Teresa Watkins of Huntsville and a host of aunts, uncles, other relatives and friends.
Flower Attendants and Pallbearers will be Courtland High School Class of 1983 and cousins.
