Gertie Lee Roberts Sims age 78 of Athens, passed away Saturday, May 31, 2014 at her residence. Mrs. Sims was born April 14, 1935 to Charles John Roberts and Viola Bell Buckelew Roberts.
Services will be Tuesday, June 3, 2014 2:00 p.m. at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home with Matt Taylor officiating. Visitation will be Monday from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in O’Neal Cemetery.
Preceded in death by her parents, Johnnie and Viola Roberts; brothers, Milton Roberts and Charles Roberts.
Survived by a son, David Allen Sims; two daughters, Barbara Lee Sims Newman and Joan Marilyn Sims Smith; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; two sisters, Marjorie Roberts King and Ida Mae Roberts Amerson; brother, Joe Leonard Roberts; numerous other family and friends.
Pallbearers will be Clint Roberts, Stacy Roberts, Jimmy King, Johnnie King, James Amerson, Brian Amerson, Michael Amerson and Wayne Sims.
