Funeral service for Velma Smith Abbott, 87, of Moulton will be today at 2 p.m. at Lawrence Funeral Home with Bro. Wayne Dotson and Chris Bell officiating. Burial will be in Moulton Memory Gardens. Visitation will be two hours prior to the service.
Mrs. Abbott who died Wednesday, April 23, 2014, at NHC Healthcare of Moulton was born January 29, 1927, in Lawrence County to Floyd Smith and Annie Sibley Smith. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ottice Abbott; her parents; brothers, Ellis Smith, James Smith, Ralph Smith, Dalmer Smith, Elmer Smith; two sisters, Lorene Smith and Lucille Dotson.
Survivors include a son, R.B. Abbott (Glenda);
grandson, Brad Abbott (Tara); granddaughter, Amy Vaughn (Brad); great-granddaughters, Chelsey Vaughan, Ashley Vaughan; and sister, Claris Abbott all of Moulton.
Pallbearers will be Brad Abbott, Brad Vaughn, Sammie Hall, Andrew McCay Jr., Ray Hill and Perry Barrett.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to NHC Healthcare of Moulton.
