Funeral service for Howard Dixon Chunn, 79, of Decatur will be Saturday, April 26, 2014, at 1 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Charles Owens officiating. Burial will be in Cedar Creek Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the funeral home.
Mr. Chunn died Thursday, April 24, 2014, at his residence. He was born November 3, 1934, in Morgan County to Escomb Howard Chunn and Lillian Merrill Sanders Chunn. He was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church and loved to garden and hunt. Mr. Chunn retired from Atlas Cylinder as a manufacturer of air and hydraulic cylinders. He was preceded in death by his parents and one daughter, Marisa Chunn.
Survivors include his wife, Joy Wiley Chunn; one daughter, Allison Littrell (William); two beloved grandchildren, Lucy Merrill Littrell and
Mamie Grace Littrell; one brother, Russell Chunn (Donna); four sisters, Linda Sivley, Becky Hennen, Charlotte Hardy and
Catherine Whittsett; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Kenneth Roberts, Stanley Roberts, Bob Hall, Jerald Wiley, Tom Whittsett and Terry Murphy.
