KatieKatie Lois Woodfin, 89 of Ardmore, Alabama died on Monday, April 14, 2014 at the home of her daughter.
Born Friday, July 4, 1924 in Tennessee, she was the daughter of the late Larkin Gates and the late Josephine Rolin Gates. She was a lifelong resident of the Ardmore area and was a member of Sweet Springs Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband: Buford Van Woodfin, brothers Eugene “Bud” Gates, Billy Dean Gates, and a sister: Leatrice Gates Anderson.
Surviving are daughter, Paula Woodfin & Jimmy Wade Ivey of Ardmore, AL, sisters, Alberta Gates Johnson of Ardmore, TN, Louise Gates Hogan of Ardmore, AL and Magdalene Gates Angus of Ardmore, AL, grandchildren: Jason Wade Ivey and Heather Ivey Prince, great0grandchildren: Corey Gage Ivey, Willian Van Ivey, Hannah Jolie Ivey, Jasmine Rayne Prince, Justin Daniel Prince, Jr., Mary Elizabeth Ivey, and Elijah Wyatt Ivey, and a host of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM on Thursday, April 17, 2014, at Ardmore Chapel Funeral Home, Ardmore, Alabama with Dr. Ray Stonecypher officiating. Burial will be in Gatlin Cemetery, Ardmore, AL.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Wednesday, April 16, 2014, at Ardmore Chapel Funeral Home, Ardmore, Alabama
