Vehicle Tag Renewals, New Tag Purchases Not Affected  by DPS Driver License System Conversion 

MONTGOMERY—The Alabama Department of Revenue advises that motor vehicle license plate
transactions will not be affected by the Department of Public Safety Driver License Division’s
recently announced database conversion, scheduled from 5 p.m. Friday, April 25, to 8 a.m.
Wednesday, April 30.

Vehicle owners who have current, valid driver licenses or non‐driver identification cards can
renew their motor vehicle registrations or purchase new license plates at their respective
county license plate issuing officials’ offices.
